Description

An EPC provides information about a property’s energy efficiency and carbon dioxide emissions.  It is accompanied by a report which gives suggestions and recommendations on how to reduce your property’s energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

An EPC is a legal requirement for any property which is rented or sold, and lasts for 10 years from the date of issue.  If your property is divided into separate units, each with their own heating system (for example, a house which is divided into individual flats), each unit will need a separate EPC.

You must have an EPC rating of E or above (or a valid exemption) to let a property (this is the ‘Minimum Level of Energy Efficiency’ standard)
