The Government have released a new How to rent: the checklist for renting in England guide.
The updated guide provides an overview of renting privately. Tenants can learn how to challenge poor practice and understand private landlords’ legal obligations, as well as their own.
It is a legal requirement for all landlords (or their agents) to provide their tenants with the How to rent checklist.
The latest version is the one that should be provided to all new tenants. The latest version also needs to be given to tenants in situ when their tenancy is renewed or when their tenancy goes statutory periodic.
